‘Bobby Gould in Hell’ by David Mamet:
Devilishly talented actors wanted for a production that is out of this world.
This is Bobby Gould’s day of reckoning. The conniving movie mogul wakes up in Hell’s Waiting Room. A loquacious interrogator in fishing waders enters. Gould argues his case. A woman he has wronged appears. In this one act play by David Mamet, described by the New York Times as “funny and pungent” will Bobby be damned or saved?
There is a cast of 4:
The Interrogator, Male 30s to 50s
Bobby Gould, Male 30s to 40s
Glenna, Female 20s to 30s
Assistant, Male or Female, 30s to 50s
’27 Wagons Full of Cotton’ by Tennessee Williams
A dark, one-act play set on a Southern plantation during the Great Depression. An impoverished gin owner, Jake, burns down a rival mill and then places his childlike, vulnerable wife, Flora, in the path of the rival’s representative, Silva, as he seeks to secure a cotton contract. The ensuing encounter exposes the brutal intersection of economic desperation, sexual power, and the collision of greed, lust, and fragile innocence.
There is a cast of three:
Flora: Female 20s. (Southern American twang suggested)
Jake: Male 30s-50s. (Southern American twang suggested)
Silva: Male 20s – 50s (Italian accent or similar suggested)
