God of Carnage (originally in French Le Dieu du carnage) is a play by Yasmina Reza. It is about two sets of parents, one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park, who meet to discuss the matter in a civilized manner. However, as the evening goes on, the parents become increasingly childish, resulting in the evening devolving into chaos. No prior booking for rehearsed readings. Patrons are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Geraldine Fitzgerald will deliver a talk to members on the historical background to Antony and Cleopatra, followed by a Question and Answer Session and refreshments. This is part of the society’s ongoing literary programme. The talk promises to be extremely interesting and will be an excellent precursor to the forthcoming production of the play.

Paul Maher will be directing his own translation of ‘The Capulet’s and Montague’s or Romeo and Juliet: The Comedy’. The play will be staged in the Hall of Teachers’ Club, Parnell Square from 18 to 21 April this year in a cabaret style production with live music and dance.
