DESCRIPTION:Dublin Shakespeare is delighted in having \nJane Grogan (Associate Professor in English at UCD.) \nto present a general introduction to the Tempest\, looking particularly at the themes been explored with our forthcoming production\, directed by Paul Maher. \nThe Talk will be held on \nSaturday23rd March at 7.30pm\, Teachers Club\, Room 6. \nFree Admission.    No reserved seating. \nDuration of talk will be 45 minutes and follow up with a Q&A session. \nJane is the author of two monographs -one on the Tudor poet Edmund Spenser\, the second on Anglo-Iranian relations and cultural connections in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries – as well as journal articles on Shakespeare\, epic poetry\, book history\, and so on. \nShe’s past president of the International Spenser Society\, and is the Irish representative to Council of the Society for Renaissance Studies.

DESCRIPTION:This exciting talk by Val O’Donnell takes place as ‘Dublin : One City One Book’ \,sponsored by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature. \n\n \n \n \n\nThe book selected this year is ECHOLAND by Joe Joyce. \nIt’s a thriller set in Dublin in June 1940 and was selected because of its broad appeal to City readers. \nVal’s talk will focus on the literary scene in Dublin at the same time as the novel is set. \nHe will also be reading from ECHOLAND. \nFor those who don’t know it\, Rathfarnham Castle\, recently renovated \, is a lovely location. \nIt is served by buses 16 and 15B. \nThe event should be over around 9pm. \nBOOKING ESSENTIAL
